Monteverde Book
In 1996, I realized there the accumulation of information, specimens, and understanding of Monteverde biota, their environment, and their interactions were rapidly growing, but there was no central repository for this information. I worked with my co-author, Nat Wheelwright (Bowdoin College) to pull together as much information from as many existing sources as possible to create a text that would summarize existing information. The book was published by Oxford University Press after nearly five years of compiling, editing, and interpreting. "Monteverde: Ecology and Conservation of a Tropical Cloud Forest" emerged in hardback in 2000 and in paperback the following year. It is available from Oxford Press (New York) and www.amazaon.com.
